SKIING
We
are proposing a five-day tour full of sports, activities
and a guaranteed wonderful time. Our schedule for this
year will be as follows:
1- Sunday night : arrival to the Hotel; dinner will be
served at 9 P.M.
2-Monday morning: Heading to the cliffs.. The first day
is a full skiing day at the Laqlouq Ski resort.
|
|
Laqlouq
is a winter and summer resort, situated on a plateau
at an altitude between 1750m and 2000m, and encircled
by jagged ridges and terraces bearing thousands
of trees. In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding,
it is also one of the best resorts suited for cross
country skiing.
Mostly visited by families, Laqlouq had its first
ski lift installed in 1958, followed by major enhancements
to the slopes and the creation of a highly qualified
skiing school. Unlike other resorts, the area surrounding
the slopes is nearly buildings and construction
free.
|
|
|

|
The
main activities are : Skiing, Snowboarding and
skiidooing.
And with the Number One skiing school in the country,
from beginners to extreme skiing, Monday through
Friday: We
care about your Skiing.
Gain balance and agility for skiing and snowboarding
with morning stretch classes. Enjoy technical
talks on skiing, equipment, techniques.
|
|
We
will head for the cliffs at 8:40 in the morning.
A beautiful morning lift, through the mountains
covered with the beautiful white, is more than enough
to put you in a splendid mood for a full skiing
day...The activities will begin at 9 as the lifts
will be open to public, and will only end when the
lifts are stopped.

TOURISM
Jeita
(400m
- 20km from Beirut) - Caverns Sculpted By Water
and Time.
Of
course, there are plenty of grottoes with stalactites
and stalagmites in the world, but it would appear
that none of them even approach the astounding
wealth or the extent of those of Jeita. Over the
years, the action of water has created cathedral-like
vaults beneath the wooded hills of Mount Lebanon.
Geologically, the caves provide a tunnel for the
underground river, which is the principal source
of the Nahr el-Kalb (Dog River).
|
The
caverns are on two levels. The lower galleries, discovered
in 1836 and opened to the public in 1958, are visited
by boat. The 600m trip on a subterranean lake is surrealistic,
starting with the roar of the waterfall at the entrance
giving way to profound silence as one slides deeper
into the cave. An effective new lighting system illuminates
the caverns allowing the visitor to glimpse the uppermost
roofs. |
|
 |
The
upper galleries, opened in January 1969, can be
seen on foot through a 120 meter-long concrete tunnel.
This section shows what the entire cave system was
like before geological conditions displaced the
subterranean river to its present level, which is
a delight to see.
Perhaps the most dramatic sight is the yawning canyons
and sink holes, some seen at a drop of over a hundred
meters.
|
From
the lower grotto, where you arrive by car, you can
take the Téléférique to the entrance
of the upper grotto for an Alice in wonderland atmosphere.
The upper galleries are the most striking, the most
spellbinding, where there is only occasional drop
of cold water that is the result of niggardly drippings
which have gone on for thousands of years. The richness
of the limestone deposits and the infinite variety
of the crystals encouraged the visitors to come again
to this site. |

SHOPPING
After
you visit the sites, a quick and entertaining introduction
to Lebanon's past can found at the Wax Museum near
the castle. Here, wax figures illustrate scenes from
the history and rural life of the country. And finally,
you can take a beautiful walk into the old souk where
you can find great souvenirs, mosaics and beautiful
antiques. |
