George Hotel is a Residential Family hotel; it is owned
by Mr. Georges Bou Gharios.
King George Hotel is located in the town of Blat, which
is part of the antique city of Byblos (Jbeil)
The
work on the hotel as a project originally began in July
1998, and was completed in July 2000. As it is now, King
George Hotel features 25 fully-equipped rooms, a restaurant
with a reception hall, a Royal suite with a 150 m²
terrace, and free parking space.
King
George Hotel was officially inaugurated on the night of
May 25, 2002, in the presence of deputies Nazem Khoury,
Fares Souaid and Abbas Hashem, Colonel Hanna Keywan, representative
of the army chief, and Mr. Pierre Ashkar, president of
the Order of Hotel Owners.

Were
also present former deputy Kamil Ziadeh, Mr. Jean Kossaifi,
chief of the municipality of Blat, and Mr. Boutros Ouba, mayor
of Blat.
As
soon as the inauguration ribbon was cut, poet Najat Sinjoub
launched the opening with the National Anthem.
Owner
George Bou Gharios talked in his welcome speech about his
motives for starting a hotel business in Blat: his faith in
Lebanon, an opportunity for his sons to work by his side in
their country instead of moving abroad, comfortable rooms
for Lebanese American University students, good prices on
meals, and so forth. .
On
this occasion, Mr. Bou Gharios offered Mr. Pierre Ashkar the
hotel's shield; the guests had a toast of optimism for the
Tourism sector in general and for King George Hotel's future
in particular.

Jordan Olympic Committee offered to King George Hotel and
their host, an appreciation certificate following their Sejour
in the hotel, and how much they enjoyed and appreciated the
service and accomodation offered to their groups.
